Calculation Logic

Adobe Illustrator .ai files created in Illustrator 9.0 and later contain a dual-structure: the private Illustrator edit data and a standard PDF-compliant preview data stream (if "Create PDF Compatible File" was checked during save).

This converter accesses the data stream of the .ai file, extracts the PDF-compliant data, and loads it using pdf.js. For image output (JPG/PNG), the vector pages are rendered onto an HTML5 Canvas at high resolution and exported as image blobs.

Does my file get uploaded to your servers?

Why does my file fail to convert?

The .ai file must have been saved with "Create PDF Compatible File" checked in Illustrator. If this was disabled, the PDF preview stream is missing.
